| South Africa |
| September, 2007 |
|
|
|
In September, Norma Kinsley had the opportunity to visit her son and family in Alabanza, South Africa. Steve and Teresa Kinsley have been missionaries serving in Alabanza for three years now. The adoption of their son, Alfie, became final in September. Alfie was one of many orphans in South Africa who was living in a squatter camp. There are so many needs in this area, both materially and spiritually. Please be in prayer for Steve and Teresa as they minister to the people there. For more information on this work you can go to www.sebenzela.org.

Indonesia Trip
August 5 - August 16, 2007
|
|
Bro. Jerry along with other pastors from the U.S. went to Bandung, Indonesia to train local pastors and men for leadership roles within their community. They met with translators who helped them communicate with the men during the leadership conference. They took a walking tour of the area which included a walk up a mountian road, visited a local water filter factory and were shown how the filters are made, and they also had the unfortunate pleasure of experiencing an earthquake (7.5) while they were there.

Honduras Trip
February 16 - 24, 2007
|
 |
|
We are so blessed to be a part of the Wynndale Baptist Church Family! There are only a few that get the opportunity to go to Honduras, meet the Chorti people and try to meet some basic needs. A large part of this church family has worked hard to make it possible for us to help them. Barry Clemmer and myself have just returned. We were given the opportunity to demonstrate to these impoverished children of God that there is a whole church and community praying for them and working to help furnish stoves, basic health needs and ways to provide food for them. We were able to place 24 stoves this visit. More importantly, we are confident that the men in those villages are now trained to mold and install these stoves. They showed an eagerness and willingness to learn. They worked with us tirelessly.
Wynndale Winners raised $2000+ for this endeavor and many of you have given individual contributions. On behalf of the Chorti, thank you and God bless you. It is impossible to provide you with a true picture of how much these gifts mean to these people.
Thank you for your continuing prayers for all the men and ladies going to Honduras and for the Chorti.

A Christian community for adults with mental retardation
SON Valley is owned and operated by Baptist Homes, Inc.
SON Valley will be unique in Mississippi.
- It is a Christian community for adults with mental retardation.
- It is open to all races and creeds, but maintains a Christian atmosphere.
- It serves the spectrum of mental retardation, from the high functioning to the profoundly retarded.
- It takes an adult and cares for him/her for the rest of his/her life.
- It will later have a nursing home for the natural progression of life.
- It is a safe and secure community, not an institution.
- It has room for parents to live in the community if they so desire.
- It is being built on 80 acres of donated land in Madison County, just outside Canton.
- It will contain group homes, independent living facilities, recreational areas (soccer and baseball fields, horses, a lake, walking trails, etc.), workshop areas, a residential area for parents, facilities for respite care and, at a future date, a town center.
- Phase 1 consists of two homes (housing10 adults each).

CHORTI INDIAN STOVE PROJECT - HONDURAS
|
|
WBC is touching people all over the world through its mission minded heart and actions. We have been working with the Chorti Indians for a couple of years now and real progress is being made. Presently, we are working with the Chorti to improve their cooking conditions with the goal of improving their health. You can help by first of all praying on a regular basis for the Chorti, for the missionaries ministering to the Chorti and for our efforts to meet the variety of needs there. In addition, there is a financial need to build these stoves. Our goal is to build a safe stove that will vent combustion products away from their huts. Presently combustion products are seeping into their homes and causing a variety of health issues for their children as well as the family.
If you would like to participate in this worthwile project please contact Harold Watson, Chorti Coordinator, or Barry Clemmer, Mission Committee Chairman.
